Athena Laster -Founder, Owner/Operator
Circle of Peace
Athena Laster is a career Entrepreneur who presently works at her 16 year old Natural Hair Salon, Circle of Peace. For the past 23 years, she has worked on making her salon a bastion of her beloved historic Third ward community while creating a companion line of hair and skin care products to solidify her brand and legacy.
Athena is passionate about entrepreneurship and natural hair, specifically, because Black Women’s empowerment, equity and representation are her life’s missions. She honors her gifts and talents by utilizing them and her voice to solidify progress for all women.
Athena is a graduate of Hampton University, where she finished with a Bachelor’s of Art in Communications.
In her free time, Athena enjoys all things fashion and makeup, playing tennis, politics and caring for her family and friends. She currently resides and works in Houston’s Historic Third Ward.

Z'maji- Owner/Operator
Glamouratti Nation
Known as "The Blow Out King," the press master, Z'maji has over 19 years of experience. Starting off as a dance teacher, he soon found an interest in braiding natural hair. Once he conquered the curling iron, he joined the Circle in 2007. When he is not jet setting as a vocalist, he specializes in blow outs and natural hair styling. Z'Maji was certified at The Paul Mitchell School. He maintains his Circle with faith, and having the commitment to walk in the god kind of love.
